Why doing job is so important ? why why why

In India as soon as child is born. His/her parents labels him with many occupations. My Son will become this , my son will become that . Like come on . Go and get some life. Let that tiny bundles live their own life. From their school days to college days they always get compared to other kids. See that sharma's Son is doing so well . Why your marks are so low? Why you did not get the placement offer etc etc. My parents were not like that . I was an above average kid till 10th and later on I did well during my college days. My Mum always wanted to see me doing professionally well. My father was not interested in my studies. My aim was to become a lecturer or Educationist. I continued my job. But there was a time when I wanted to do nothing. And then I took a break from my job. But people around me were like why are you doing this ? you should continue your job. I know some were saying on a positive note and some were for money sake. But they never tried to understand me that what I actually want ? Soon I diverted my mind towards tutorials and started thinking about starting my own business or you can I wanted to enter in Education business. Still that thing is on my mind. But the problem is money. That too one can handle but there should be some support system in any form. Sometimes I wonder in this whole world I am not the only one who is facing this problem,there are so many others too. I think I am born to lead not to follow. I know you guys must be thinking that wtf is she saying.
 
See In India there are different parameters to judge one's intelligence. First one is their fluency in English and Second one is your Marks. And above all,good  References or you can say good links. I mean seriously? How someone can judge you on this basis? what about the practical knowledge? Here lies the main problem. My students always ask me to about the streams. Which stream is good or not.My simple answer to them is that all the streams are good until unless you are interested in them . Those streams should not be forced on you by your parents. They choose these streams to get a good job in future. It is a rat race. I am so fed up from all such stuff. Now a days I am only hearing about job job job job job , exams .
Please let me live and let others live too. People like me are happy in their own space. So it's my request to respect their individuality and choices too and don't question us please.
